Gallery 27: 9/11 Memorial – New York City, New York

The 9/11 Memorial and Museum commemorates the September 11, 2001 attacks, which killed 2,977 people and the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, which killed six. The memorial is located at the World Trade Center site, which is the former location of the Twin Towers that were destroyed during the September 11 attacks. Construction started March 2006 and the memorial was completed September 11, 2011. The Museum was completed May 21, 2014. The two reflecting pools are located where the Twin Towers once stood.
